Jane's Walk on Saturday: Waterfront Walk Against the Jets

Saturday, May 3rd: NoJetsTO, Waterfront Toronto and MPP Rosario Marchese Organize Jane's Walk on Jet Issue Sculpture by Rowan Gillespie, Ireland Park, TorontoTORONTO - Trinity-Spadina is no stranger to debates over contentious development or land-use issues. Over the last year another such issue has come to the forefront: the expansion of the Island Airport in order to allow the use of commercial jets. This debate comes at a time where all three levels of government have invested billions of dollars in public funds to revitalize the waterfront, via Waterfront Toronto. Join the MPP Rosario Marchese (Trinity-Spadina), NoJetsTO and Waterfront Toronto on Saturday, May 3rd at 10:30am for a Jane's Walk where we will discuss the potential impacts of airport expansion on Toronto's new and improved waterfront, the increasingly densely populated neighbourhoods that would be impacted by this project, and an eventual Ontario Place revitalization project. The walk will begin at Little Norway Park, adjacent to the Toronto Port Authority's airport ferry terminal. Click here for a map and full details.
