With its recreational offers like events, concerts and beaches, the waterfront is also a magnet for Toronto's LGBT community. Especially Hanlan's Point has evolved into a beach popular with gay visitors. But all this is at risk now from an expanded Island Airport. While the Pride Parade is an occasion to celebrate, it has also always been about political awareness and mobilizing the LGBTQI community and allies. The waterfront jet plans are threatening a unique recreational and tourist destination - for all Torontonians. Thank you for supporting a jet-free waterfront by joining us this Sunday.
