As Volunteer Coordinator, you will be the face of our on-the-ground campaign.

About NoJetsTO NoJetsTO is a coalition of concerned citizens dedicated to preserving Toronto’s mixed-use waterfront and a boutique Island Airport. Representing residents across Toronto, the non-partisan organization NoJetsTO opposes the expansion of the Island Airport through jet aircraft and extended runways. NoJetsTO’s goal is to preserve the current state of the Island Airport by protecting the Tripartite Agreement that governs it. Responsibilities Working closely with NoJetsTO’s Steering Committee, the volunteer coordinator will be responsible for interacting with Toronto residents door to door and at outreach events. This includes:
  • Coordinating all on the ground efforts
  • Informing and coordinating with volunteers for joint canvassing activities
  • Ensuring quality of returned petitions
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in public outreach and/or canvassing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work irregular hours (including evenings and weekends)
  • Proven ability to work independently, with no supervision, and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in keeping accurate records and attention to detail
  • Experience with Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Office (an asset)
  • Experience with volunteer management and coordination is an asset
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license and/or possession of a monthly TTC pass is an asset
  • Basic understanding of the current municipal political climate is an asset
Terms and Conditions
  • This is a temporary, hourly-paid position for a three-month period, to be extended if necessary
  • Reporting to: NoJetsTO Steering Committee
  • Weekly work hours: 15-20 hours (to be increased if mutually agreed)
  • Compensation: $15/hour
  • Starting date: immediately
